Chapter 4306 Celebrate
Chapter 4306 Celebrate
Buzz!
The formation buzzed and shone brightly before the shine disappeared, leaving a complex humanoid made of runes before me.
I am finished with the inheritance of the Mid-Sky Sovereign.
It isn't fully finished, as it needs to undergo the checks, but I am not worried about that. Given that I still haven't reached the limit, I have a lot of time.
I think I am six to seven months away from reaching the physical limit.
The forbidden power limit became difficult to discern. The closer I got to it, the harder it became. Though, it shouldn't have taken me over six months.
I could be wrong, as I said, the forbidden power making it difficult. It will become more difficult as more forbidden power fuses into me.
It is only a slight disadvantage, compared to the massive benefits I receive.
I stared at the humanoid for a few seconds before leaving the library. I was not walking out alone; my clones were with me.
I had only kept the three clones to myself, while the rest will work on different things—especially the breakthrough formation.
Now that I have finished the inheritance, it is time to start working on the breakthrough formation; I will need it to be ready to make a breakthrough by then.
I pushed those thoughts away and slowly walked through my core.
It felt lonely without the bears, and I miss them, but I can't keep them in my core forever. They need to be in their natural environment, face numerous challenges, and grow with them.
I helped them as much as I could. I taught them a skill that will help them face those challenges; the rest is up to them.
"I need to celebrate," I said, stepping out of my core before getting.
It was late at night, near midnight, when I flew out of my house.
Thud!
A few minutes later, I landed on the ground in front of the tavern. Nobody seemed to notice me. Nobody had even batted an eye.
Though people noticed as I entered inside, but only for a moment.
To their senses, I am a Primary-III like them with above-average strength, but there are many like me.
The tavern is packed with people eating and drinking. Some are even dancing.
"I sat down at the table for two as two people sitting there got up. Immediately, the waitress arrived.
"Can I get you anything?" she asked. "Yes, Karzan beer and today's special," I ordered.
"Make it two," added Carter from in front of me. He looked surprised, but only for a moment, before she left.
"It seemed like you could negotiate with our friends with Samar," I said with a smile. He didn't answer and just sighed.
"If I kept giving resources, every person coming to loot me. I might not have anything left in a few years," he replied a few seconds later.
I couldn't help but laugh hearing that.
"They weren't stronger than you. You didn't give them more than a token," I said. He smiled.
I had sensed them earlier, and after scanning them. I decided to remain in my abode. They were no threat to him. Especially so close to the headquarters.
If he wanted, he could have been able to kill them with protection measures.
"I hate it, and I hope it will be over soon," he said, and I could see how much he hated it. I don't like it either as things could also turn dangerous for me.
Since I had returned, people from the two organizations had come to Taurus.
He was able to send them away with the threats and negotiations, but it won't always work. Eventually, an organization like Belial's Star will want to cross the swords.
"It will, but till then you will have to bear everything that comes in your way," I replied, and he smiled mirthlessly.
That is when our waitress came—bringing our orders. It looks good.
Clink!
"To the future then," he said. "To the future," I repeated, and we clinked our glasses before sipping the beer.
"I don't think I had tasted this bear since I broke through the Primary," he said, his eyes turning distant for a few seconds.
"I used to come here with my friends, not at this tavern. It didn't exist then, but a different one, not far from here," he added.
"They seemed like a good memory," I stated. "They are," he replied, before taking a bite of food.
A few minutes passed as we ate and talked, enjoying the tavern's wild atmosphere, which got wilder as time passed.
"This power is a great gift that we earned through the hard work and sacrifices, but sometimes, it felt like a curse,"
"It makes us lose friends, family, and everything we hold dear. We become a creature that thinks nothing, but of the next breakthrough and is willing to go to any length to achieve," he said, looking directly into my eyes.
"It is true, but not fully. Yes, we lose friends, but not all of them. Some friendships transcend the difference in levels and besides, we make a new friend,"
"As for family, we love them, we hate them, but they are always with us, even when they are not," I replied, my eyes becoming teary for a moment.
I miss my family and friends. Sometimes it becomes unbearable.
I cannot go to them for their safety and mine. So, I have become a creature that is not thinking other than the next breakthrough, but that is not all I am.
I am a person. It is why I am sitting, eating dinner, and drinking with the person who will try to kill me the very next moment if he comes to realize my intent.
A creature wouldn't have done that. Only a person could.
I finished dinner and said, "I hope you have used them well. For your sake and your organization, I pray I will see the result soon. "
His expressions turned serious, after hearing that.
"I hope so too," he replied and got up, before walking away, while I stayed there watching.
